Banners, Pennants & Flags by Ricki

all about us

It all begins with bolts of outerwear fabric. Color selection is a big part of the process, so arranging and rearranging until a combination sings to me is step number one. For most designs, step number two involves cutting the fabric into strips and sewing the strips, using flat fell seams, into a new piece of fabric large enough to accommodate a Spinnaker©. From this piece, I cut the shapes for many of the banners offered, which is why they all come in the same suites of colors. As with all handmade items, no two are exactly alike, but the spirit remains the same. A career in graphic design and lifelong involvement in textile arts has thus morphed into skydancing delights.
